Educational outreach that teaches students about optics and their everyday applications

At Edmund Optics®, we are passionate about allowing students to explore the fascinating world of optics and get excited about science! Edmund Outreach offers many learning opportunities, including in-person classroom experiences and educational resources.

Scientific exploration, facilitated by Edmund Optics® employees, is promoted through engaging and thought-provoking activities. Each hands-on activity stimulates scientific thinking and highlights different uses and properties of optical components. The Future Depends on Optics®, and we are proud to introduce the next generation of thinkers, inventors, scientists, and engineers to this vital and wonderful field!

Types of In-Person Events

Local School Visits

The Outreach Team travels to local schools in South Jersey to educate students from grade 5 through college-level about the exciting world of optics and light.

Field Trips to HQ

Spend a half day at Edmund Optics’ Barrington, NJ headquarters, seeing and experiencing first-hand our manufacturing facilities, the daily work of an optical engineer, and educational optics demos.

Career Days

Contact us to attend your school career day and enlighten students about the exciting field of optical engineering and manufacturing.

Shadow Programs

Open to high school students interested in engineering who want to spend the day with an optical engineer. A customized program is developed by our Outreach Team.

Digital Optics Outreach Centers

Even if you can't attend one of our in-person events, we have hundreds of educational videos that can introduce young people to optical concepts and technologies.
