To accelerate our success and growth within the European Market, Edmund Optics GmbH is looking for a

Finance Manager EMEA (f/m/d)


Essential Functions:

  • Analyze financial data and trends to support the business in decision-making
  • Monitor the financial performance of the business, help set KPIs and develop measures to improve efficiency and profitability
  • As part of the annual planning, determine the budgets together with the business – over the course of the year review them regularly and, if necessary, take countermeasures
  • Analyze cost structures, identify opportunities to reduce costs or increase efficiency and work to improve financial processes and systems together with the business
  • Develop long-term business strategies and prepare the relevant input from the finance side
  • Regularly prepare financial reports and presentations to management to communicate financial position and progress in implementing strategies
  • Manage accounting tasks such as general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, cost accounting
  • Oversee payment processing for Germany and France
  • Lead cooperation with external tax advisors in 4 European countries (Germany, France, etc.)
  • Prepare and review internal and external financial reports (i.e., monthly, quarterly, and annual closing work and reporting, ad hoc calculations, and reports on demand)
  • Budget entry and forecast works for Germany (incl. branch offices) and France
  • Liaise with third party suppliers (i.e., leased company cars, facility management)
  • Assist with local insurance policies while liaising with Corporate
  • Serve as main contact for financial, tax, customs, and social security authorities in local matters
  • Intermediate User of SAP ECC6 (current), S4HANA (future)
  • Provide professional support and counsel to other European locations


Qualifications:

Your profile:

  • Degree in business administration with a focus on finance and tax law or qualification as a certified accountant (“Bilanzbuchhalter”)
  • Min. 10 years of experience in accounting, controlling, ideally in an international operating company
  • Solid knowledge of accounting standards according to HGB and US GAAP, ideally, experience with accounting processes in other European countries
  • Strong proficiency in SAP and MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Analytical thinking skills and a structured, detail-oriented work approach
  • Fluent in German and English; additional language skills are an advantage
